Description

We’re all aware of the incredible benefits of mushroom compost for soil and plants. However, purchasing large quantities of this compost can be wasteful, and storing it can pose challenges.

In my own garden, I’ve been using various pellets for years, in addition to granular seaweed.

Nevertheless, I’ve observed that the balance of NPK nutrients in these products often falls short of what the soil truly requires. Consequently, I embarked on a quest to discover a more efficient and natural means of enhancing soil quality.

Looking for a better way

At Better Plants, we have teamed up with a company that specializes in producing top-quality Mushroom Compost pellets.

This partnership simplifies the task of caring for your soil and plants, offering the ideal balance of NPK nutrients for both. Our pellets are exclusively crafted from 100% Irish mushroom compost, ensuring their quality and effectiveness.

How it works

Better Plants Soil Improver enhances soil texture and promotes the growth of essential microorganisms necessary for a healthy and fertile soil environment. These improvements will boost water retention in the soil, which is particularly valuable for those gardening in raised beds or within polytunnels and greenhouses.

These pellets have a slow-release nature and naturally decompose, delivering nutrients to the plants and soil precisely when they require it while also helping to balance the soil’s pH. They are incredibly user-friendly for both your garden and can be added to compost for your houseplants.

These pellets are manufactured in Ireland to the highest quality standards. They undergo a steamed sterilization process during their conversion from compost to pellets, and absolutely no chemicals are used in their production.

For application, you’ll want to use 150 grams per square metre, which is roughly equivalent to a generous handful. A recommended method is to evenly sprinkle them over the soil and then either dig or rake them in. Afterward, it’s beneficial to water the area to assist with the breakdown process.
